Ex-WD 2-8-0 No 90312 is seen crossing over the former GWR line as it proceeds to Broom on a engineer's train on 28th May 1960. Built for the War Department as Railway Ooperating Department (ROD) No 70801 by the North British Locomotive Company in 1944 No 90312 was to remain in service until December 1963 when it was withdrawn from 9G Gorton shed to be scrapped in March 1964 by Crewe works.
