1909 Railway Clearing House Map - Showing Stations in and around the County of Warwickshire

1909 Railway Clearing House Map - Showing stations in and around the County of Warwickshire

A copy of the 1919 Railway Clearing House Map showing the different routes and their stations within and around the County of Warwickshire for each railway company. The map obviously omits stations added after this date (e.g. Aston Cantlow). There are also some anomalies with this official map. For instance, an absence of Spring Road (this was an afterthought when the North Warwickshire Line opened in 1908), but one would have expected it to be shown ten years later. The map also marks the Alcester branch as being open, although it was not restored until 1922-23, whilst the Henley branch from Lapworth was never relaid after the Great War. Note too that some of the stations contained in our list are not shown because they were closed prior to the map being produced. Examples would include Sanctus Lane, Clifford Chambers and Evesham Road Crossing, all in or near to Stratford on Avon.

Colour Coding:
       Great Western Railway - Yellow
London & North Eastern Railway (GCR) - Pink
London & North Western Railway (including Harbourne branch) - Red
       Midland Railway - Green
Stratford & Midland Joint Railway - Blue
LNWR and MR Joint line - Ashby & Nuneaton Railway - Green and Red
