Western Blizzard - Philip Hawkins, Fellow of the Guild Railway Artists.

The painting portrays a linesman facing the blizzard as ex-GWR 4-6-0 No 4082 'Windsor Castle' passes through Acocks Green & South Yardley station on a down service during the winter of 1963. Built by Swindon works in April 1924, No 4082 swapped identities with No 7013 'Bristol Castle' in February 1952 and remained in service until September 1964 when it was withdrawn from 2A Tyseley shed to be scrapped by J Cashmores of Newport.
