Western Blizzard - Philip Hawkins, Fellow of the Guild
Railway Artists.
The painting portrays a linesman facing the blizzard as ex-GWR
4-6-0 No 4082 'Windsor Castle' passes through Acocks Green & South Yardley
station on a down service during the winter of 1963. Built by Swindon works in
April 1924, No 4082 swapped identities with No 7013 'Bristol Castle' in
February 1952 and remained in service until September 1964 when it was
withdrawn from 2A Tyseley shed to be scrapped by J Cashmores of Newport. For
