Foleshill Railway: miscfr007a

Close up of image 'miscfr007' showing the 0-4-0ST which is working hard as it crosses over the bridge at the head of the short train. The locomotive is a 'saddle tank' - hence the letters 'ST' used after the wheel configuration - and indicates that the water is held inside a tank that is shaped to follow the outline of the boiler and in this case the smoke box too. Not all saddle tanks were fitted the length of the boiler and smoke box as can be seen in image 'miscfr003' where the saddle tank is fitted only over the boiler.
