LMS Route: Nuneaton to Leamington
Coventry Gasworks: misc_covgas1480
Ex-LMS 2-6-2T No 40157 is seen at the head of a five-coach
service between Nuneaton and Coventry. The coaching stock appears to be
corridor stock and not local passenger stock indicating perhaps that they have
been pressed into service to make up for a shortage. The second and possibly
the fourth coaches appear to be in the original British Railways 'blood and
custard' or crimson and cream livery. Built at Derby works in October 1937 No
40157 remained in service until November 1962 when it was withdrawn from
Willesden shed prior to being cut up at Derby works in April 1963.
