British Railways built B1 4-6-0 No 61315 eases out of Rugby Central on the 9:30am Sheffield to Swindon on a Class A express service on Sunday 17th June 1962. The locomotive was allocated to Darnall shed at the time the photograph was taken as is seen on a train of Eastern Region stock. The B1 4-6-0 class were favoured at this time for this turn. Built by the North British Locomotive Company of Glasgow in April 1948, No 61315 was to remain in service until February 1966 when it was withdrawn from 41J Shirebrook shed to be scrapped by Hesslewoods of Attercliffe.
