A pair of ex-LMS 4-6-0 Rebuilt Royal Scot locomotives, No 46101 'Royal Scots Grey' on the immediate right and No 46126 ' Royal Army Service Corps' in the distance, are seen on Friday 1st February 1963

A pair of ex-LMS 4-6-0 Rebuilt Royal Scot locomotives, No 46101 'Royal Scots Grey' on the immediate right and No 46126 ' Royal Army Service Corps' in the distance, are seen on Friday 1st February 1963. The Royal Scots Grey is in charge of the waiting evening Rugby to Nottingham local service on a grim winter's day whereas No 46126 is at the head of the departing up semi-fast service. No 46101 had been allocated to Annesley just the previous month, thus explaining its relative cleanliness whereas No 46126 had arrived on the GC some three months earlier, in November 1962. One of No 46101's crew walks, hunched against the cold, heading off to the signal box for a warm-up.
