Ex-LMS 'Rebuilt Royal Scot' 4-6-0 No 46111 'Royal Fusilier' approaches Rugby Central at with a down express whilst ex-LMS 5XP 'Jubilee Class' 4-6-0 No 45553 'Canada' stands at Rugby Central's up platform with the up evening Nottingham Victoria to Marylebone working. The Royal Scot was originally built with a parallel boiler by the North British Locomotive Company of Glasgow in October 1927, but later when the boiler was life expired, it was rebuilt with Stanier's 2A tapered boiler undergoing at the same time other modifications. In its tapered boiler form No 46111 remained in service until September 1963 when it was withdrawn from 16D Annesley shed. The Jubilee Class locomotive, built as LMS No 5553 by Crewe works in May 1934, was to remain in service until November 1964 when it was withdrawn from 5A Crewe North to be scrapped.
