Ex-LNER B16/3 4-6-0 No 61444 is working back to York from Woodford Halse on a Type 3 service in 1962. British Railways classified the Type 3 working as a 'Parcels, fish, fruit, horse, livestock, meat, milk, pigeon or perishables train composed entirely of vehicles conforming to coaching stock requirements. Empty coaching stock train (not specifically authorised to carry '1' headcode)' The Raven designed locomotive was built as LNER No 2373 by Darlington works in May 1923, initially as a member of the B16/1 class and then as a B16/3 when it was rebuilt in May 1945. Renumbered by the LNER as No 1444 in November 1946, it was renumbered again this time by British Railways in June 1948 which it carried until June 1964 when it was withdrawn from 50B Dairycoates shed in Hull to be scrapped by Drapers of Hull.
