LMS Route: Stratford Midland Junction - The Shakespeare
Route
Stratford on Avon Station: smjsa424
An old photograph showing the railway crossing the River
Avon with Lucy's Mill in the background, on the left. The mill got its name
from a Thomas Lucy of Cobham, Surrey 1764-1829, who had originally come up to
try & claim The Lucy's estate at nearby Charlcote Park. He failed
but bought up mills local to South Warwickshire. I am trying to find
photographs of the sidings that connected Lucy's Mill to the railway so if
anyone can help please contact me via
warwicks.railways@outlook.com.
