Ex-LMS 4F 0-6-0 No 44188 stands at the head of a SLS Special at Stratford Old Town station on 24th April 1965. The tour was run to mark the closure of the Stratford-upon-Avon & Midland Junction Railway line. The tour started at Birmingham Snow Hill headed by ex-GWR No 6435 and ex-LMS No 44188 and ran via the North Warwickshire Line to Stratford on Avon Racecourse Junction where No 6435 was detached so that No 44188 could traverse the SMJ line to Woodford Halse by itself before reversing the journey back to Stratford on Avon. At the racecourse junction No 6435 was reattached and the train proceeded back to Snow Hill station.
