Ex-LMS 5MT 4-6-0 No 44811 passes through the station with a Class A express service for Nuneaton circa 1960. British Railways categorised a Class A service as being, 'Express passenger train, newspaper train or breakdown van train or snowplough going to clear the line or light engine going to assist disabled train. Officers' special train NOT requiring to stop in section'. Built by Derby works in October 1944, No 44811 was to remain in service until October 1966 when it was withdrawn from 40E Colwick shed to be scrapped.
