Ex-LMS 4F 0-6-0 No 44260 exits Washwood Heath Sidings on a
Derby bound freight on 2nd March 1963. It was recorded that on the night of
Friday 9th August 1940 one of the first eight bombs to fall on Birmingham
landed on the area behind the locomotive. Fortunately little damage was
sustained by the railway at this point. The 4F had been built by Derby works in
August 1926 and remained in service until October 1964 when it was withdrawn
from 15E Coalville shed.
