Close up showing the cattle dock in the distance and the turnout used to access Bomford and Evershed's factory

Close up of image 'mrsp1352' showing the cattle dock in the distance and the turnout used to access Bomford and Evershed's factory on the right. The cattle dock was sited on the siding which also served as the head shunt for the two sidings on the left. The schematic signalling diagram seen in image 'mrsp1354', dated 1907 shows two Stages (ground frame), one adjacent to each turn out, each containing the lever to operate the turnout. However in this view there is no sign of the Stage adjacent to Bomford Evershed's siding. The Stage seen above appears to be operating both the turnouts from the loop line, one by the rodding direct to the point in the centre of the track and the other, by the rodding seen running down the right hand side of the track. In image 'mrsp1350a' the remnants of the second Stage can be seen.
