Saltley Shed: mrsalt1960

Ex LMS 2-6-0 No 42823, is seen standing on the back roads behind Saltley Number 3 shed in March 1962. Built in 1929 as LMS No 13123 at Horwich Works and renumbered as No 2323 in 1934, No 42823 was of the Hughes 'Crab' class and was to remain in service until February 1964 when it was withdrawn from 21A Saltley shed. It had been a Saltley loco since early 1956.
