Ex-LMS 5MT 4-6-0 No 45260 and BR Standard Class 4MT 2-6-0 No 76088 stand in the yard ready for their next turn

Ex-LMS 5MT 4-6-0 No 45260 and BR Standard Class 4MT 2-6-0 No 76088 stand in the yard ready for their next turn (see images above and below). The Stanier 'Black 5' was built as LMS No 5260 by the Armstrong Whitworth Company to Lot 1315 in October 1936 and remained in service until the last month of steam operation on BR being withdrawn during August 1968 from 10D Lostock Hall shed. The British Railways 'Mogul', No 76088, was built by the former Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway's works at Horwich in May 1957 and was withdrawn ten years later in June 1967 from 6A Chester shed.
