LMS Route: Birmingham New Street to Tamworth

Ex-LMS 8F 2-8-0 No 48514 stands at the rear of Saltley's No 3 shed having had its tender topped up. This is another locomotive allocated to Saltley which had been built under the auspices of the LNER and their Doncaster Plant. Built in May 1944, No 48514 remained in service until October 1966 when it was withdrawn from 5D Stoke on Trent shed.
