Close up of image 'mrms852' showing timber signal gantry just in front of Moseley tunnel and St Mary's Way which passed over the top. The signal has been suspended between the two sets of rails, a location dictated by the curve of the tunnel. At one time the signal was manually operated by a frame located on the up platform although authority to set the signal in the 'off' position (which would allow entry in to the station) would be given by Kings Heath signal box. On the side of the gable end is an advert for coffee and teas from Cotterell's Stores a small one also being evident on the other gable end.
