Close up of image 'mr941' showing the new weighbridge and office and other offices relating to handle freight traffic. Behind the weighbridge is a horse drawn trailer complete with a container. Both of the motorised vehicles seen in the photograph are tractor units with trailers. These articulated lorries offered a degree of maneuverability that was unable to match that of horse drawn vehicles but they compensated by being able to move larger and heavier loads much more quickly. Also seen above on the right are four teller type windows presumably used to issue dockets and receipts.
