British Railways built 2-6-0 4MT No 43036 is seen at the head of a down ordinary passenger service on 18th June 1953. Built at Horwich Works in June 1948 No 43036 was to remain in service until May 1966 when it was withdrawn from 12D Workington shed to be scrapped in October 1966 by the Motherwell Machinery & Scrap Company of Inshaw Works. The signals are the Northfield up distants and the Halesowen Junction down outer home. Being GWR signals indicates they have replaced since nationalisation in January 1948 when the Western Regional boundary was extended to Selly Oak and Kings Heath later to be cut back to Linthurst.
