LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham & the SMJ Railway
Broom Junction Station: mrbj1356
Ex-MR 3F 0-6-0 No 3523 stands at Broom with the 11:15 am service
to Stratford upon Avon on the final day of the connecting service in 1947. Bob
Essery believes that the two carriages behind the tender are two Third Class
Brake coaches. A member of the MR's Class 1873, No 3523 was built by Neilson
& Company circa 1897 and would remain in service until September 1960 when
it was withdrawn from 21A Saltley shed to be scrapped by Gorton works.
