Bournville Shed: mrb1506

A photograph of various members of staff based at Bournville not long after the shed opened in 1895. Note the warning sign is different to that seen in image 'mrb1494a' being of smaller print. Above the sign is a signal fixed at danger which appears to be hand operated from the ground. It was designed to prevent engines entering the shed when the turntable was at the wrong position. On the wall to the left the clean glass lantern of a gas lamp shows how relatively new the shed is.
