View of Winson Green station looking towards Wolverhampton seen on 11th September 1957, just five days prior to its closure. The main station building is located above the Wolverhampton to New Street line at road level. The building was a typical LNWR structure seen at a number of stations on the Trent Valley line, Duddeston station on the New Street to Aston line and Stechford station on the New Street to Coventry line. The timber building on the island platform has been configured to benefit mostly passengers travelling to New Street station, being that the building has been offset taking up more room on the down platform for Soho Road and with a large canopy projecting out over the up platform for New Street station.
