British Railways Standard Class 4MT 2-6-4T No 80088 pilots ex-LMS 5MT 4-6-0 No 44803 on a down express on 10th August 1958. The pilot locomotive, No 80088 was built at Brighton works in July 1954 and remained in service until June 1965 when it was withdrawn from 75B Redhill shed. The train engine, No 44803, was built by Derby works in June 1944 and remained in service until June 1968 when it was withdrawn from 26A Newton Heath shed.
