LMS Route: Birmingham-Soho-Perry Barr-Birmingham

Soho East Junction: lnwrsej2278a

Close up showing the brick built viaduct which carried the railway over Wellington Street and Vittoria Street

Close up of image 'lnwrsej2278' showing the brick built viaduct which carried the railway over Wellington Street and Vittoria Street. The structure has two large arches, one at either end of the viaduct, with smaller arches in between. Wellington Street ran under the nearest large arch whilst Vittoria Street ran beneath the large arch seen in the distance. John Fancote writes, Wellington Road Bridge is Number 17, Soho Viaduct is Number 18 and Vittoria Street Bridge is Number 19. These bridges are numbered within the 'Soho Perry Barr Line' sequence. The signal cabin (the LNWR describes it thus whilst most other railways describe it as a signal box) is a standard LNWR design similar to that seen at both Winson Green Junction and Soho Soap Works Junction.
