Looking towards Rotton Park Road bridge with the timber walkway on the left and brewery sidings beneath on 7th November 1934. The sidings seen above are those described in image 'lnwrrp2185' as the Birmingham end connection and to be accessed required only the key kept at the ground frame. The LMS' 1931 Appendix which provided instructions on every part of its network stated: Great care must be exercised when shunting into these sidings, which are on a falling gradient. Guards or shunters detaching wagons must be careful to see that they are fully secured by brakes and sprags. (A piece of wood or metal wedged beneath a wheel or between spokes to keep a vehicle from rolling).
