Ex-LMS 5MT 4-6-0 No 44765 is seen running past Rugby station on the up goods line on 29th March 1965. The bidirectional line to the engine shed is to its left which the up goods line can access via a crossover a little further near to the GC bridge. Built as LMS No 4765 by Crewe works in December 1947, No 4765 was one of the last members of the class built before the railways were nationalised on 1st January 1948. Renumbered by British Railways in September 1948 as No 44765, the Stanier designed locomotive ran in service until September 1967 when it was withdrawn from 5B Crewe (South) to be scrapped by J Cashmore of Great Bridge.
