Ex-LMS 4-6-2 Coronation Scot Class locomotive, thought to be No 46235 'City of Birmingham', passes under Clifton Road Bridge with a down Type 3 working. Clifton Road bridge is now seen partially demolished whilst adjacent to the locomotive inside the steel sheet piles the three tripod piling rigs are still sinking 18 inch maximum diameter bored piles to carry the abutments of the new bridge. Concrete for the piles being brought in by the temporary narrow gauge light railway.
