LMS 5XP 4-6-0 No 5564 'New South Wales' is seen heading an up express past Rugby exchange sidings prior to the introduction colour signalling in 1939. Jonathan Wealleans wrote on the British Railways Historic Foundation Facebook Page 'Note the three Belgian (ex-ROD) 20T ferry vans in the third road across at the right hand end. Possibly the only prewar colour picture of these as well'. Built by the North British Locomotive Company of Glasgow in August 1934, No 5564 was to remain in service until July 1964 when it was withdrawn from 9D Newton Heath shed to be scrapped Cashmores of Great Bridge.
