English Electric Type 4 D334 diesel locomotive heads a down express from Euston onto one of Rugby's through lines. Built in March 1961 by English Electric's Vulcan Foundry D334 was initially allocated to Crewe North shed after which it remained in service until May 1981 when it was withdrawn from Kingmoor shed in Carlisle to be cut up by Swindon works.
