Ex-LMS 5XP 4-6-0 No 45741 'Leinster' pilots ex-LMS 6P 4-6-0 No 46138 'The London Irish Regiment' on the 2:30pm service to Euston on 16th June 1951. The Jubilee class locomotive, No 45741, was built by Crewe works in December 1936 and remained in service until February 1964 when it was withdrawn from 12A Kingmoor shed. The 'converted Royal Scot class locomotive, No 46138, was built by the North British Locomotive Company in October 1927 and remained in service until February 1963 when it was withdrawn from 12B Upperby shed in Carlisle.
