Ex-LMS 4-6-0 Royal Scot class No 46151 'The Royal Horse Guardsman' is seen standing at platform 3 adjacent to Nuneaton No 2 Signal Box on 23rd August 1952. Built at Derby works in June 1930 No 46151 was eventually rebuilt with tapered boiler etc and remained in service until August 1962 when, as the first of the class, it was withdrawn from Darnall shed in Sheffield and after being stored at Staveley shed was scrapped in August 1963 by Crewe works.
