LMS Route: Nuneaton to Leamington

Ex-LMS 4-6-0 rebuilt Jubilee class No 45735 'Comet' is seen at the head of an up express as it passes Nuneaton No 1 Signal Box at speed in August 1959. Built at Crewe works in November 1936 No 45735 was one of two Jubilees rebuilt as a precursor to the rebuilding of the Royal Scot class in 1942. In rebuilt form No 45735 remained in service until October 1964 when it was withdrawn from Annesley shed to be scrapped during January 1965 by J Cashmore of Great Bridge.
