British Railways built Ivatt 2-6-2T 2MT No 41228 stands at Leamington Avenue at the rear of a Push-Pull service to Nuneaton via Coventry in November 1948. Built by Crewe works in October 1948, No 41228 was allocated to 2E Warwick Milverton shed for the first ten years of its working life before being transferred to 2A Rugby shed in November 1958 where upon it was loaned to the Western Region being allocated to 84D Leamington shed until February 1960 when it was returned to 2A Rugby shed. Following its allocation to 6G Llandudno Junction shed in August 1960, the locomotive was moved first to 24J Lancaster Green Ayre shed before returning to 6G Llandudno Junction shed to then move to 15C Leicester Midland shed, 15B Wellingborough shed, 70A Nine Elms shed, before finally being withdrawn from 15B Wellingborough shed in July 1964 to be scrapped by Cohens of Kettering.
