LMS Route: Nuneaton to Leamington

An unidentified ex-LMS 8F 2-8-0 locomotive, with steam blowing hard from its safety valves, slows in order to drop off the train staff from Frank Prew, the signalman. The different method of building the bridges that crossed the two lines can be seen in this photograph. On the left the bridge over the Berkswell branch opened in 1884 is built using blue bricks whilst on the right the earlier bridge opened forty years earlier is built using stone.
