Ex-LMS 2-6-2T Stanier 3MT No 40157 is on a five coach train
passing the gas barometers. The coaching stock appears to be corridor stock and
not local passenger stock indicating perhaps that number 40157 was at the head
an excursion train.
The second and possibly the fourth coaches appear to be in
the original BR 'blood and custard' livery. Number 40157 was built at Derby
works in October 1937 and lasted in service until November 1962 when it was
withdrawn from Willesden shed prior to being cut up at Derby works in April
1963.
