LMS Route: Nuneaton to Leamington

Ex-LMS 2-8-0 Stanier 8F No 48258 is seen running tender first with a fully laden coal train. Number 48258 was built built by North British Loco to a WD order in October 1940 and numbered WD 398. It must have been absorbed into LMS stock prior to nationalisation as it was given the LMS running number 8258. Number 48258 lasted in service until August 1967 when it was withdrawn from Edge Hill shed before being scrapped by J Buttigieg of Newport in January 1968.
