Another 1920 aerial view of Coventry Goods Yard this one showing the long siding on the left which led to the coal wharfs. The wharfs were located in the 'V' between this long siding and the throat to the goods yard. Forming the top boundary and just visible running left to right from the centre of the photograph, is the remains of the embankment of the second footbridge which once crossed the Nuneaton and Birmingham lines. This second footbridge was supported in the centre, in the 'V' between the two sets of lines. See image 'lnwrcov2769b' for a diagram showing the embankment and 'lnwrcov3255' for a Six inch to the Mile OS map showing it too. This siding was to serve the abattoir which was to be built in the early 1930s.
