Part of the Ordnance Survey map showing the junction of the Nuneaton branch, the sidings and roads leading to the the goods sheds. When the goods yard was first built, and indeed for may years following, the cranes within the goods yard were in fixed positions both in the sheds and in the yard. A 25 ton electric traverser crane was an early 20th century addition allowing the yard to handle Coventry's ever growing engineering products. The motor landing dock would seem to suggest that the map dates from just prior to the First World War. At the bottom of the map reference is made to a 'Site for Abattoirs', which were eventually built after the war as seen in image 'lnwrcov193'.
