LMS Route: Rugby to Wolverhampton
Brandon and Wolston: lnwrbw2826
Schematic plan dated 8th September 1902 showing the goods yard
and sidings at Brandon & Wolston station. Up to 1903 the goods yard off the
up line was connected to the siding off the down line via two wagon turntables
with a short section of inter-connecting track passing through both running
lines by means of a square crossing. Preston Hendry and Powell Hendry state in
LMS Stations Volume One 'that such an archaic arrangement on the main
line was remarkable, especially as the LNWR had been suppressing such
connections on country branches in the late 1880s'.
