Birmingham New Street Station: lnwrbns_str3075

View of Worcester Street looking north from its junction with Station Street in 1963 with Queens Drive on the left

View of Worcester Street looking north from its junction with Station Street in 1963 with Queens Drive on the left. This street level view looks north across the eastern end of New Street Station from the corner of Station Street along Worcester Street towards New Street which is seen in the background. The newly constructed St Martin’s Circus Ringway is to the right. The Rotunda is under construction on the corner of New Street and Worcester Street. This unusual view of Queen’s Buildings on the left hand side of Worcester Street shows both the front and rear elevations of the row, possible only because of the awkward triangular nature of their site above the railway tunnels below. The shallow depth of the southernmost part of the row is clearly apparent from the roof. See also image 'lnwrbns_str3074' and image 'lnwrbns_br1805'. The entrance to Queen’s Drive is visible on the left hand edge of the photograph.
