Looking towards the West end of Platform 3 from the parcels sidings with LMS 2-6-2T No 143 standing at the head of a Class B stopping passenger service. The clock above New Street No 5 Signal Cabin appears to show that its 3 20 pm yet its a working day being Thursday 5th July 1935 and there is not one passenger in sight. The light through the glass roof appears to be strong yet there are no shadows suggesting that the photograph was taken very early in the morning. With twilight starting at about 4 17am with sunrise being approximately 5 02am the time this picture was taken is a real enigma.
