Looking West from the end of Platform 8 towards the bridge
carrying the junction of Hill Street, John Bright Street and Navigation Street
on 1st August 1964. The former entrance to Queens Drive can just be seen on the
right above the crane whilst the retaining wall below shows that the buildings
on Platform 7 have also been demolished. Above the platforms is a temporary
footbridge installed during the demolition to provide the citizens of
Birmingham with the right away across the station whilst the original
footbridge structure was demolished.
