Behind the row of four buses is the junction with John Bright Street which contributed towards a very busy section of roads around the station. The four trams on Navigation Street were used on a number of services to and from the Bristol Street area and, according to Mike Hitches in his article on New Street Station in British Railways Illustrated Volume 2 No 5, included services that ran to the Lickey Hills. At the bottom of the image sleepers have been built up to provide steps from the track on to Platform 6.
