View of New Street No 3 Signal Cabin showing a new semaphore signal and bell over one of Platform 2's roads as well as the removal of the arches. In addition to their loss because of the removal of the arches, the platform numbers are no longer evident on top of the 'Way Out' signs erected over the steps to the footbridge. It is thought that the change of position of the semaphore signal from being suspended from the base of the footbridge to being located on the post was to improve its visibility although in similar circumstances elsewhere providing a white background had been adopted. The number of levers on the East side of the cabin appears to be six although there is evidence in image 'lnwrbns_str1848' that a number of cables also run from the cabin and these might be associated with coloured lighting introduced following an accident.
