Ex-LTSR 2P 4-4-2T No 2109 is seen standing at the West end of Platform 6 on a New Street to Redditch local passenger service on Thursday 20th June 35. Built in June 1903 as LTSR No 68 'Mark Lane' by the North British Locomotive Company No 2109 was, along with her class sisters, displaced by Stanier's new 3 cylinder tank locomotives with many cascading to the Midlands. The performance of the class on local services was sufficiently successful to see No 2109 remain in service until March 1951 when it was withdrawn from Nottingham shed to be scrapped in April 1951 by Crewe works.
