Looking from Proof House Junction signal box with the junction to Curzon Street on the left, the line to Aston in the centre and the lines to Coventry and Derby on the right in 1947. The set of tracks on the left provided access to both Curzon Street as well as continuing under the bridge carrying the former Grand Junction Railway to Wolverhampton via Aston. The Grand Junction Railway route also provided access to Walsall via a junction at Bescot and also to Sutton Coldfield and Lichfield via a junction at Aston. The route to Coventry, the former main line built by the London to Birmingham Railway Company, had been realigned to allow the Midland Railway's route to Derby and Nuneaton to pass under the L&B to reappear alongside the L&B as seen above. The Midland Railway's route to Bristol via Camp Hill also used the pair of lines to the right although they curved to the West instead of burrowing under the L&B route.
