Looking towards Vauxhall viaduct from Grand Junction signal
cabin with Banbury Street Wharf on the left. The line on the extreme left is
the headshunt for Banbury Street, the light coloured shape at the extreme left
is the concreted in stop block which can be more clearly seen in image 'lnwrbhm_sa2320b'.
To its right, the next two lines are the ex-Midland Railway's route to Derby
crossing beneath the main Birmingham to Euston lines behind the photographer.
Next to these, again on the right are the main lines between Birmingham to
Euston. The junction seen on the right provides up trains from New Street with
a more direct route as well as allowing traffic to and from Curzon Street to
gain access to lines to Coventry and also to Gloucester.
