Ex-LMS 4-6-0 Royal Scot class No 46144 'Honourable Artillery Company' at the head of the 4 30pm Euston to Birmingham New Street express. Built as LMS No 6144 in November 1927 by the North British Loco it was rebuilt with tapered boiler in the 1940s and lasted in service until January 1964 until it was withdrawn from Crewe North shed to be scrapped the same month at the adjacent works.
