LMS Route: Rugby to Wolverhampton

Ex-LMS 2P 4-4-0 No 40646 is seen at the head of the 5 25pm Coventry to Birmingham service having just left Beechwood tunnel. Number 40646 was built at Crewe Works in September 1931 when it carried the LMS running number 646. It was withdrawn from Bescot Shed in May 1962 before being scrapped in September 1962 at J Cashmore of Great Bridge. 27th May 1956
